Pedestrian struck, killed on Kitsap Way in Bremerton

A 60-year-old woman named Roberta Winslow from Bremerton died after being struck by a vehicle at 8:35 a.m. on Tuesday morning just west of the intersection of Oyster Bay Avenue and Kitsap Way in Bremerton.

A 32-year-old woman from Bremerton was driving the vehicle with a 7-year-old child as a passenger. Neither suffered injuries.

Bremerton Police and Fire units responded to the collision at Weslon Place along with aid crews. Kitsap Way was closed between Ostrich Bay Avenue and Oyster Bay Avenue until about noon.

Kitsap Interagency Traffic Team investigators, Bremerton PD and Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived to investigate the scene. Though the cause of the crash hasn't been determined, the driver did not show signs of impairment, and no criminal activity was suspected, reported the Bremerton Police Department.

An investigation is ongoing. Winslow's autopsy is scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2023.
