Disappointing when institutions fail to keep standards
As an Evangelical Christian of 54 years standing, I was appalled but not surprised to read Ed Palm’s recent column in the Sun ("The law and the Liberty Way," March 17) concerning Liberty University’s Clery Act violations, which the school was fined for to the tune of $14 million.
Human nature being what it is, particularly in Hollywood, some Protestant churches, the Vatican and Boy Scout organizations, instead of admitting offenses and rooting out evil, officials now blame the victims! This is appalling but not surprising. It seems no one wants to admit to drunkenness, lying or taking scholastic, economic and/or sexual advantage of another.
Not only this behavior, but the attitude is abhorrent, particularly in civic and religious organizations which claim to be Christian and innocent, but are inwardly liars and ravening wolves. God help us all.
